Get fit with water treading
Set to Kneipp from head to toe
…a little warm, a little cold and a whole lot of pleasure!
Every pleasure needs its crowning finale and/or its crowning beginning. So does your hiking pleasure. At Chesa Monte in Fiss, you can make treading water in the inviting Kneipp pool the first and/or last stop on your hike. True to the motto: Kneipp makes hiking complete.
Good reasons for Kneipp therapy
Do as the children do: get out of your shoes and socks and get your feet in the water …. simply marvellous.
Water, the elixir of life
Sebastian Kneipp also felt intuitively drawn to water at the time. The aspiring priest was seriously ill with tuberculosis and tried to cure himself with cold water treatments. He had read about the healing power of cold water in a book by the doctor Johann Siegmund Hahn – and was now grasping at this last straw. Because his illness was considered incurable in the middle of the 19th century. Kneipp was successful! He overcame his illness, cured other seriously ill people and developed his own theory and teachings on water cures.
Treading water in the stork walk
Have you acquired a taste for walking barefoot in a cold Kneipp pool? Then you can roll up your trouser legs after your hike and try what is probably Kneipp’s best-known water treatment: treading water. Admittedly: The first step takes some effort. But it’s worth it! Because the stimulating, tingling sensation quickly puts you in a good mood.
It has been proven that treading water toughens you up, stimulates the circulation and the entire metabolism, promotes blood flow and strengthens the veins.
More than just tingling: Kneipp therapy
Kneipp therapy is all about triggering positive reactions in the body with a brief cold stimulus. This not only refreshes and revitalises the skin, but also stimulates the circulation and nervous system and strengthens the immune system in the long term. Sebastian Kneipp’s water treatments include cold showers, wraps and compresses, partial, full and alternating baths.
Kneipp is culture. “Kneipp as traditional knowledge and practice according to the teachings of Sebastian Kneipp” has been recognised as intangible cultural heritage since 2015. Reason enough to become curious about a philosophy that can become a way of life and health. Words can only marginally describe this culture. It’s the application that does it!
