Fiss

Hike on the Alpenrosensteig

Panoramic hike

Route description

We take the gondola lift to the Fisser Joch (2,436 m). From here we hike to the Schönjöchl (2,493 m) with magnificent views of the Inntal valley and the front Kaunertal valley. We now descend over the broad mountain ridge to the small Frommessee lake. The Alpenrosenweg trail branches off here. Down to the forest crown, then over flat pastures to the Schöngampalm (1,878 m). Via the Fisser Almweg through the forest to the rest area in Rabuschl and back to Fiss.

Special features

The Alpenrosensteig is an old Geißensteig trail between Schöngampalm and Frommes. In the upper section, it leads along untouched mountain slopes with magnificent stands of Swiss stone pines and alpine roses (in bloom from the end of June to mid-July) and with beautiful views down into the Inn Valley near Landeck.
