In 46 AD, Emperor Claudius upgraded the road that his father Drusus had used during the great Alpine campaign in 15 BC to a state road. It is the only Roman road across the Alps named after an emperor. Hike to Serfaus. We follow the Via Claudia Augusta through fragrant pine forests to St. Georgen - one of the oldest pilgrimage churches in Austria. A unique Gothic art treasure, built in the 14th century and dedicated to St. George. Continue via a path to Untertösens (930 m). The "Römerbrücke" - an old stone arch bridge - is worth a detour. Through meadows and meadows along the young Inn to Ried. Take the post bus from Ried back to Fiss.
