Fiss
We take the gondola lift to the Fisser Joch (2,436 m). The trail leads us over flat grassy slopes and boulder fields into the Urgtal valley floor (1). To the Spinnseen lakes, the trail climbs slightly along the stream via Steinkare (Gemsrevier) to a ridge and shortly afterwards to the Oberer Spinnsee lake (2,450 m). After a rest, we hike across flat alpine pastures, then descend a little more steeply to the Unterer Spinnsee and further steeply down to the bottom of the Urgtal valley. Along the stream, the route is flat to the Lader Uralpe and past the small Urgsee lake to the Schöngampalm (1,878 m). From the Schöngampalm, return to Fiss by mountain bike.
Possible onward routes: Ascent to Schönjochbahn 1 1/2 hours, Fisser Almweg to Fiss 3 hours, descent Hochgallmigg 1 1/2 hours, descent to Ladis 3 hours.
The Spinnseeweg is a multi-award-winning, magnificent mountain trail into the secluded and unspoiled Urgtal valley - a natural gem of a landscape.
