Serfaus
From Serfaus, the starting point of our hike, we take the gondola lift to the Kölner Haus (1,965 m) and on to the Lazid (2,346 m). We hike over the Kitzköpfl to the Furglersee (2,458 m). This is followed by a wonderful, somewhat steep ascent to the Furglerjoch (2,748 m). From here we have a sensational view of the Paznaun valley and the Hohe Riffler/Verwall group. Ascent over the steep ridge, over large boulders and scree slopes to the summit. Descent via the Tieftalsee to the Kölner Haus.
As we rest on the summit, we can see the Ortler group to the south with the Ortler as the eye-catcher. To the east, the Ötztal peaks lie before us as if on a platter and to the north, the view extends as far as the Zugspitze. The view of the beautifully shaped Bernina group is also particularly impressive.
For enduring mountain hikers, surefootedness and a head for heights are required in some places.
