Fiss

To the Frommesalm via the Fisser Höhenweg

Hiking

Route description

The Fisser Höhenweg trail runs across meadows and alpine pastures, runs above the village along the top of the forest, is very scenic, mostly flat and offers beautiful views of Fiss and the surrounding mountains. After taking the gondola lift up to the Möseralm (1,812 m), the route leads to Steinegg (1,920 m) and over alpine pastures to Rotschrofenboden, a point with great views. We reach the Frommeshütte hut without any major differences in altitude. We hike through the castle forest to Frommesalp with its bird of prey station and red deer enclosure. The animal nature trail is worth a detour (starting point Frommesalp). Return to the village via the Fisser Almweg.

Special features

The animal nature trail takes us across alpine meadows and through the forest directly to the Frommes-Alp. LOOKING TABLES inform hikers about the local wildlife.
