In Innsbruck's old town, it seems as if everything comes down to its landmark: the Golden Roof. It is rightly a popular place to visit, not least because of the magnificent historic houses surrounding it. And yet the many other hotspots in the old town are just as important - the Imperial Palace, for example, the Schwarzmander Church, the city tower and the countless cafés and boutiques.
The beautiful old center of the Tyrolean capital is the place where the metropolis named after the "bridge over the Inn" had its beginnings. The famous Golden Roof is just one of many sights. On Maria-Theresien-Straße, Innsbruck's boulevard, visitors quickly realize that tradition and modernity are not a contradiction in terms. The predominantly historical façades also incorporate contemporary features, such as the Tyrol department store by David Chipperfield.
Mysterious underworld. It is also known as the "mother of all mines" - the silver mine in Schwaz. Today a pure visitor attraction, in its heyday in the late Middle Ages it was the largest silver mine in the world. The mine train takes you on a journey back in time.
The mine made the town of Schwaz the largest and richest mining metropolis in the Middle Ages. Up to 85 percent of the silver traded worldwide came from the local mine. Especially in midsummer, when it is hot outside, many visitors appreciate the old tunnels due to their pleasant temperature of a constant 12 degrees. And by the way: for allergy sufferers, a tour like this is a welcome respite. Because the mine is an absolutely pollen-free zone.
The Olympic ski jump at Bergisel is one of four venues for the International Four Hills Tournament. The renovated Olympic ski jump, designed by star architect Zaha Hadid, was opened in 2002 and has become both a sporting and tourist attraction. An inclined elevator transports visitors up to around 250 meters above Innsbruck in just 2 minutes - here, in addition to a panoramic restaurant, there is also a viewing terrace with a magnificent 360-degree panoramic view of the provincial capital and the surrounding mountains.
In the stadium itself, 13 panels provide information about the ski jump and its history as well as about ski jumping.

Nowhere else can you experience life in the Alps during the Stone Age as closely as in the Ötzi village in Umhausen. In the 11,000 square meter open-air archaeological park, visitors can learn about life, living and farming in the Neolithic period up close and feel as if they have been transported back in time to when the glacier man "Ötzi" was still hunting here. "Ötzi-Franz", one of the employees in the "Ötzi Village", is the main attraction: dressed up as Ötzi, he takes part in the weekly and monthly presentations of Stone Age life. A souvenir photo with him is of course a must.
Over 29 hairpin bends to the edge of the glacier ice. The Kaunertal Glacier Road is one of the most beautiful high mountain roads in the Alps.
